About TrustedHearth
Building trust in the chimney and fireplace industry, one verified professional at a time.
Our Mission
The chimney and fireplace industry has a trust problem. When a homeowner needs chimney work done, they face an overwhelming mix of search results: certified professionals with decades of experience listed right alongside unlicensed operators who appeared overnight. There is no easy way to tell them apart.
After a chimney fire or storm damage, the problem gets worse. Scam artists flood affected neighborhoods with door-to-door pitches, offering cut-rate inspections that lead to inflated repair quotes. Homeowners who are already stressed make quick decisions they later regret, often paying thousands for unnecessary work or shoddy repairs that create new safety hazards.
TrustedHearth was built to fix this. We created a specialized directory where every listed professional's credentials are transparent and verification is automatic. Our goal is simple: when a homeowner searches for chimney or fireplace help, they should be able to see exactly which certifications a company holds, whether their license is current, and how long they have been in business — before they ever pick up the phone.
How We're Different
General home service directories like Angi, HomeAdvisor, and Yelp list millions of businesses across hundreds of categories. That breadth comes at a cost: they cannot deeply verify credentials in any single trade. TrustedHearth takes a fundamentally different approach.
1. We verify before listing, not after complaints
Most directories list anyone who signs up and only investigate when complaints pile up. We cross-reference certification databases, state licensing records, and business registrations before a professional appears in our directory. If we cannot verify credentials, the listing says so clearly.
2. We specialize exclusively in chimney and fireplace services
By focusing on a single trade, we understand the certifications that matter: CSIA for chimney safety, NFI for hearth product installation, state-specific licensing requirements, and industry insurance standards. A general directory treats a chimney sweep the same as a house painter. We know the difference between a Level I inspection and a Level III inspection, and we verify accordingly.
3. We do not sell leads to multiple contractors
On lead-generation platforms, your contact information gets sold to three, four, or five contractors who then compete to call you first. On TrustedHearth, the homeowner chooses which professional to contact. Your inquiry goes to one company — the one you selected — and no one else.
Who We Are
When my fireplace needed repair, I did what most homeowners do — I asked around and started calling companies. What I didn't expect was that four different chimney professionals would give me four completely different diagnoses, four different recommended solutions, and four wildly different prices for what was supposed to be the same problem.
One company came highly recommended but their entire approach was built on alarm — worst-case scenarios and a hard push toward a wood-burning stove I never asked about. A second company bad-mouthed competitors on the first call, took days to produce a quote, and when I checked their credentials, their business license had expired. A third was the cheapest option, but the technician seemed unsure why he was there and quoted me for the wrong work entirely.
The fourth company? I found them through Google reviews — a 4.9 rating with dozens of genuine reviews. They responded the morning after Thanksgiving. By Friday, two people were on site. Their solution was clear, less destructive, and competitively priced. I hired them. It wasn't even close.
I spent hours vetting these companies — cross-referencing reviews, checking licenses, comparing quotes. If that was my experience as someone who works in technology, what chance does the average homeowner have? TrustedHearth is the directory I wish existed — one where credentials are verified before you see them, not after something goes wrong.
